[ Trahearne has everything but a bag of cats. One day, however.

Red slows upon approach, interested in just the planty man - until his words bring him to look to Jolteon, who's regarding Treahearne just as much as he might be regarding him, chin tipped to look allllll the way up that face. ...and just about everywhere else after, actually. ]

Oh, yeah. I have a few friends, actually. [ Tyvm. The answer is more teasing than anything, and Red gestures down to his spiky-furred friend. ]

His name is Jolteon! [ Was that a yap in greeting?? It sure was. ] He's one of my partners I told you about before -- a pokémon. [ He nods with the word, a reminder in case Trahearne forgot. ]

[While Jolteon was looking aaall the way up at Trahearne, Trahearne was just staring down at him in complete fascination. He was so vibrant... and... cute... what...]

Jolteon. [He repeats, looking between the pokémon and Red like he didn't quite comprehend how casual this was.] You fight alongside one another in battle? I don't want to seem insulting to his strength, but it... it isn't easy to tell what he does. [HE'S SO YELLOW HE'S STUCK ON THIS]

That's fine! [ Actually, it doesn't sound insulting at all to Red's ears. ] He can do other things, but his main strength is in electricity. His body can generate it whenever, wherever! It can make touching him when he gets excited a little shocking. [ Eheh. ]

But he knows how to control it, so you don't have to worry about what he's going to do. It's pretty cool though, huh?

Electricity? From his body? But he's a mammal, I... [Excuse his bewilderment. Trahearne is used to elementals being the only thing that can manipulate electricity. They were just balls of lightning. That was simpler.]

[ The confusion just gets a smile and the sound of a laugh, and even what might be taken for a shrug with the light rie his shoulders. He does what he doooes, Trahearne. ]

Sure you can! You don't mind being petted, do you? [ Red looks to the pokémon, who opens his mouth but doesn't make a sound - he's already approaching for those pets, a paw - with no claws, you're welcome - patting on Trahearne's leg before he eyes upward again.

I would've figured he'd get over being fussed so much by people by now, but he really likes getting close to everyone. He'll remember you, you know!

Will he? What a good friend! [By the Pale Tree, he was ready for pets. Cats were never this open to petting. What a wonderful creature.

He crouches and reaches down to pet his little head, grinning from ear to ear.] He's quite adorable for such a fearsome pet.

Partner. [ He doesn't even miss a beat in correcting that, while down below Jolteon doesn't caaare, craning his head this way and that into the hand. Even tree hands are a-ok!! ]

Most of my pokémon with me don't mind other people. One of them likes pulling pranks on them a little too much to let her approach who she wants, and another prefers to spend time only with the team, but Jolteon is the friendliest of them all. He flips like a light switch when it comes to battling and if you offend him, but he's quick to forgive too.
