I didn't think... [He pauses for a moment, and parts his lips like he's going to say something. But after a moment, he tentatively asks instead.] Can I kiss you?
Yes, I... [Trahearne exhales and just stares at him in exasperation, just praying it was the right thing. He put a hand on his arm, then leaned to kiss Syrlya.]
[There's a brief second where he's sure it was a mistake, and he's ready to pull back.
But he feels Syrlya lean in, and there might be flowers coming up from through the floorboards from how ecstatic he is. He puts his hands on Syrlya's waist and holds him there for another minute, but pulls back to catch his expression.]
[Trahearne's hands on his waist are all the encouragement Syrlya needs to fall forward and throw his arms around his neck as he kisses him. It's not until Trahearne pulls back that Syrlya takes a breath and tries to calm himself, his face flushed gold.]
Oh, oh, I--[He pulls back a bit, pollen shaking out of his hair.]
N... no. [But he's staring wide-eyed, because how can Trahearne look so happy and not shocked and embarrassed like him. Why is he the only one embarrassed!!
He may be gripping Trahearne's leaves a little tightly.]
[Syrlya sputters and covers his mouth as his blush only grows worse and the room is smelling strongly of lavender. The floorboards start to bend and wave under them, but at the very least they aren't cracking.]
Then perhaps, objectively, this one will be better. [He chuckles, moving a hand to the small of Syrlya's back to pull him up into another kiss. He wasn't purposely trying to embarrass him, but... Alright, maybe a little.
Knowing Syrlya wasn't appalled by it ensured the second wasn't rushed. He shuts his eyes and relaxes against him, enjoying the smell of lavender the other's emotions brought. Though unintentional, he thought, it sets the mood.]
[Syrlya squeaks as he's pulled into another kiss, and not he's not entirely certain any of this is real. Maybe he slipped in the kitchen and hit is head and this is all a fever dream?
... But if it is, he doesn't want it to stop yet. So he presses his hand against Trahearne's chest and slowly relaxes as the second kiss is softer and calmer.]
[It better not be, because Trahearne wouldn't have the courage to do this all over again.
The flowers that'd sprouted bloomed at his delight with Syrlya's response. He decides to let Syrlya choose when to end it, the corners of his lips already forming into a another smile.]
[Even if he did, it's much better in Syrlya's anyway. He smiles and goes to squeeze the one around his palm.]
I did not think you would ever want that. [Did he really... want that... Trahearne. Was that what he was thinking when he said it. The answer is no, but he doesn't know that.]
Mm. [Syrlya scrunches his face and then sighs dramatically. He lightly smacks his hand against Trahearne's arm.] Aren't you scandalous, wooing your Commander!
[He smiles wryly as he looks back up at Trahearne.] Aren't you still tired from your challenge?
If only the Pact knew. I'm sure they would all celebrate. [He laughed, pulling back with a shake of his head. The more he thought about the Pact the less he smiled, though, so he was quick to change the subject.]
I am, but I will rest soon. [Had he really slept since the challenge? No, not really. Perhaps that's why he wasn't thinking so clearly.]
Yes, Commander. [Trahearne rolls his eyes and moves around him to go into the bedroom. He glanced back over his shoulder at Syrlya before laughing and getting into bed.]

You should rest right now! You look like you can barely stand, I will... I will make you some tea! To sleep.

Instead he just smiled to himself, and reluctantly withdrew his hand.] As I have said before, you are too kind. I would appreciate that.
